Three services. Each with a clear scope and a documented outcome.
Whether you need to understand a watch's condition, restore its movement, or confirm its water resistance, there is a service at Krung Watch designed for that purpose.
← Back to HomeMethodology applied across all services
Intake & Examination
The watch is logged, examined externally, and placed on the timing machine. Baseline readings are taken before any work begins.
Assessment & Report
Findings are documented in writing. If further service is needed, the scope and cost are shared for the owner's consideration before work proceeds.
Service Execution
Work proceeds to maker specifications where accessible. Parts are sourced from manufacturer catalogues where available. Deviations are discussed first.
Post-Service Verification
A second timing machine pass confirms regulation. Pressure testing confirms seal integrity where applicable. Results are added to the service record.
Diagnostic Assessment
A first appointment for owners who would like to understand the condition of a watch before committing to further work. The timepiece is examined externally and on a timing machine, with notes made on rate, amplitude, beat error, and any visible condition issues. The findings are shared in a written summary along with a suggested order of priority for any future service.
Suitable for newly acquired watches, watches that have been resting in a drawer for some years, or pieces an owner is considering parting with. The diagnostic is a standalone service — no commitment to further work is assumed.
What is included
- External condition inspection
- Timing machine reading (rate, amplitude, beat error)
- Written summary of findings
- Priority recommendations for further service
- Record kept on file for future visits
TYPICAL TURNAROUND
Three to five working days from intake.
Service of Modern Automatic Watches
A comprehensive bench service for modern automatic watches manufactured within the past three decades. The movement is disassembled, cleaned in an ultrasonic bath, lubricated with appropriate greases and oils at correct quantities for each surface, and regulated on the timing machine. Worn parts are replaced from the maker's catalogue where available.
Rotors are inspected for axial play and reground or replaced if needed. We follow each maker's published procedures where these are accessible, and we discuss any deviations with the owner before proceeding. The work is logged for our records so future service can refer to previous findings.
What is included
- Full movement disassembly
- Ultrasonic cleaning of all components
- Calibre-specific lubrication applied
- Rotor inspection, reground or replaced as needed
- Timing machine regulation — before and after
- Worn parts replaced (parts cost quoted separately)
- Service record updated and filed
Parts replacement quoted separately
TYPICAL TURNAROUND
Two to three weeks from intake, subject to parts availability.
Water Resistance Restoration
For diver's watches and water-resistant sports models whose seals have aged through years of regular use. We replace all serviceable gaskets and crystals, lubricate threaded crowns, and conduct dry and wet pressure testing in line with the case rating. The achieved rating is noted on the service record.
Suitable for active wearers and collectors who value functional capability alongside appearance. Gaskets degrade with time even in unworn watches — the original rating is not a permanent quality. A documented, current pressure test result gives the owner an accurate picture of where their watch stands.
What is included
- Replacement of all serviceable gaskets
- Crystal replacement if required
- Crown thread lubrication
- Dry pressure test
- Wet pressure test
- Achieved rating documented in service record
TYPICAL TURNAROUND
Five to seven working days from intake.
Which service is right for your watch?
| Situation | Diagnostic | Full Service | Water Resistance |
|---|---|---|---|
| I want to know the condition of a watch I just acquired | |||
| My watch has not been serviced in five or more years | |||
| I use my watch in the sea or pool and want a current pressure rating | |||
| I am considering selling a watch and want documentation of its state | |||
| My watch is running slow, gaining time, or stopping intermittently | |||
| My diver's watch crown feels gritty or the case back is difficult to open |
If you are unsure which service applies, the Diagnostic Assessment is the natural starting point.
Technical standards shared across all services
Secure Handling
Each watch entering the bench is logged with a unique reference number. It is stored securely when not under active work and released only to the registered owner or their authorised representative.
Calibrated Equipment
The timing machine and pressure testing apparatus are maintained to current calibration standards. Readings taken on out-of-date equipment are unreliable; ours are current.
Specification References
Where manufacturer documentation is available, we reference it. Lubricant grades, torque values, and regulation targets are calibre-specific — we look them up rather than approximate.
Genuine Parts Priority
Parts are sourced from manufacturer catalogues where these are accessible. When genuine parts cannot be obtained, we discuss the alternatives with the owner before fitting anything.
Persistent Records
Every job is logged to a per-watch file. Future visits reference previous findings automatically. The record accumulates value with each visit rather than starting from zero each time.
Owner Communication
Owners are contacted at intake, when assessment findings are ready, and at completion. Significant scope changes are discussed before they are acted on. Nothing is assumed from silence.
